DDE
The DDE, developed by Mike Ayris, Downhole Surveys’ Managing Director and manufactured in Perth, Western Australia, is housed in a robust Pelican Case. Using a calibrated optical encoder, the DDE displays depth and rate. A rechargeable 12-volt battery provides power to the unit for 2 days’ continuous use.
External wireline units are no longer necessary as the DDE operates on the drill rig’s wireline, reducing the capital costs of downhole surveying. The unit is quickly and easily attached to the wireline using a simple slot design.
“The DDE is an essential piece of equipment for any type of surveying instrument, but it is particularly important when used with the GyroSmart, Special attention has been paid to individually calibrating and certifying each device to better than .01 of a metre over 50 metres” explains Mike Ayris.
The DDE is available immediately on a rental basis. It can also be leased with any DHS survey instruments.
