Electronic Multishot - Open Holes
Open hole
surveying is a cheaper alternative to HSHA
Rate Gyro surveying however it comes
with its risks.
Poor ground conditions such as swelling
clays, broken ground, sand and water intrusion
can cause a hole to be blocked as the drill
rods are being pulled. In poor ground conditions
we always recommend in-rod surveying with
either the HSHA Rate Gyro or Electronic Multishot.
Assuming the ground is stable, open hole
surveying with Electronic Multishot
can be very productive, at around 3000m
per day.
Results at every 10m survey station are
available onsite shortly after downloading
from the Electronic Multishot. A new option
in the MeasureIt software allows
for multi-hole co-ordinate upload. This
further reduces processing time and eliminates
transcribe errors.
