Electronic Multishot - Surveying through DDH bit
Electronic Multishot
replaces the old single shot camera.
By utilising our Electronic Multishot, multiple
readings are easily taken in the same hole.
The tool fits into the standard 36 and 38mm
running gear allowing it be used on standard
landing collars.
The major advantage of the Electronic Multishot
is its ability to take multiple readings
at any interval as the drill rods are being
pulled out of the hole, producing a more
accurate drill hole path. There is no communication
cable connecting the Electronic Multishot to
the surface, it uses its own battery ( 10
year life) and onboard micro processors.
Each dip and azimuth reading takes less
than 10 seconds, this is faster than a rod
can be unscrewed and racked resulting in
no rig down time.
Survey intervals are usually at each rod
join. In underground drill rigs this may
be every 3m and surface rigs 6 or 9m. Data
from the Electronic Multishot is downloaded
to the ruggedised StoreIt data pad. Post
survey processing can be done at the drill
rig on a laptop computer with the DisplayIT
software entering collar coordinates and
header information to produce plots and
hard copy.
