HSHA Rate Gyro - Horizontal Holes

Our HSHA Rate Gyro is the only Gyro available to the mineral and engineering industries that is capable of surveying accurately in the horizontal plane.

A special pump down sub has been manufactured to fit on the end of HSHA rate Gyro allowing it to be pumped down the drill rods. By simply changing pump down plug sizes, a range of drill rod sizes can be used. Recently, 9 holes were directionally surveyed at Placer Dome's - Kanowna Belle Underground. These holes ranged in dip angle from -9° to -60° and 750m to 900m in depth.

Our purpose built and underground registered vehicle fitted with AFFF Fire suppression sytem is mobilised to the drill hole. The pump down sub is attached to the end of Gyro and the cable fed through a pump down stuffing box.

Directional surveying is usually carried out on the way out, maintaining a constant winch speed.
